If memory serves, the Band Psychoroll was founded some time in late summer of 2008 by Mathias Rohler, David Friedländer and Thomas Lehmann. Mathias heard David's drumming through the walls of the rehearsal rooms and invited him for a jamsession. Thomas joined the session, as he already played with Mathias in the band Bowneck. In the first session, the 3 worked on a song, Mathias had written, which would later become "Ready to Leave". The session proved fruitful and the decision was made, to form a project. Thomas found Sebastian Kelle online and recruited him as the band's first bass player. As a four-piece now the band came up with the structure to the "Psychoroll Theme" based on a clean riff by Mathias. While Mathias also contributed "Bleeding from my Eyes" in the first months, Thomas would start writing the first songs for the band as well, starting with "Feeding Time" and the first version of what would later become the title track "Chaos and Mayhem". Thomas would also take over the job of lyricist for the band. In a legendary night in Aachen's Nightlife Rock Club, Mathias - impressed by Ingo's statue, approached him to ask, if he was a singer. Unfortunately Ingo was hunched down at the time and looking up, gave Mathias a bloody nose. Apparently happy for the invitation to try out as a singer, Ingo would later turn Mathias upside down, making him lose his shit (i.e. Keys and wallet) on the dance floor. It was a strange night, but the band would have 5 members after it. Very soon it was decided to split up singing duties between Ingo and Thomas, as many lyrics called for two singers. After a small gig, Sebastian would leave the band in 2011, as he moved to Island. Soon after a new bass player was found in Rolf Nacken. In the following years, the rest of the songs were written, Mathias wrote "Toxic Prayers" and "Lift off and Deliverance" while Thomas wrote "Breathing Freely" and "Silence is Rising". The structure to "Stop Killing God" formed during a rehearsal between Thomas and David. With the new material, the band played a couple of gigs, before Rolf left the band. A colleague from David's work, Thomas Horst filled in as the new bass player and played the band's last shows to date. With no label, the band self-produced this first album, which would proof to be a too long endeavour, so that the band dispersed before completion, when David moved to Bavaria.

... but psychoroll is far from over ...
